The Maine Music Society Announces "A Heritage Christmas" Concert.
The Androscoggin Chorale and Edward Little High School Chamber Choir team up to offer charming and delightful music for the Christmas Season.
Lewiston, Maine – Once again, Maine Music Society presents the Androscoggin Chorale's Heritage Christmas Concert bringing audience members an evening of delightful musical entertainment with a custom fit for the holiday season on December 11 and 12 at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston and on December 19th at the First Congregational Church in South Paris.
Under the direction of John Corrie, Artistic Director, the chorale will sing song favorites, old and new, in a variety of languages. Some of those favorites include, Carol of the Bells, Santa Baby, Ding Dong Merrily on High, plus classical pieces as Hodie Christus Natus Est. They will also include the ever favorite Christmas carol sing-along with the audience at the end of the concert, of which John Corrie comments, "I sincerely feel that the Christmas carol sing a long always adds to everyone's seasonal joy."
In addition, the chorale will team up with the Edward Little Chamber Choir as part of the Maine Music Society's musical education outreach program. The students will participate in various songs throughout the concert under the direction of Beth Labrie, musical director for the high school.
There will be an added delight element when the directors become the performers. John and Beth will join in a duet singing Cesar Franck's Panis Angelicus, something the chorale doesn't want anyone to miss.
