GARDEN TOUR MORE THAN FLOWERS ONLY
Lewiston—The Maine Music Society’s 13th Annual Home and Garden Tour, to take place on July 14th in greater Lewiston/Auburn from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine), will feature musicians playing and painters painting. Those taking the self-guided tour of area gardens will encounter John Corrie, Artistic Director of MMS, playing Mozart and Rameau on the harpsichord as well as other musicians elsewhere providing lute music.
At the Gould gardens Joyce Coyne will be painting with water colors where other artists are welcome to bring their brushes and easels to capture nature in art. At noon in Betty Turgeon’s garden there will be a cake to celebrate the annual event. Come ask questions about how to nurture your perennials and enjoy the handiwork of expert gardeners. Feast your eyes on the beauty the Androscoggin Valley has in abundance.
Tickets--$10 in advance and $12 on the day of the tour-- will be on sale beginning June 23 at Shaw’s and Hannaford’s in Lewiston and Auburn, at the Ivy Cottage in the Auburn Mall, and at Mr. Paperback and Provencher’s Landscaping Nursery in Lewiston. Included in the ticket are directions to each of the featured gardens.
