Maine Music Society Announces Season Opener "Battle of the Blends XVII" Nov. 6 at Lewiston's Franco American Heritage Center
Concert tickets are on sale now and Season Tickets are still available.
Lewiston, Maine - The 2010-2011 Maine Music Society performance season opens on Saturday, November 6, at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston in its 17th year of Battle of the Blends, a key fund-raiser for the Society.
Battle of the Blends is a concert of a cappella music featuring some of the best groups in the Northeast. This year's concert will feature five groups, who will present a wide variety of music including jazz, rock, gospel, and barbershop.
The Saco Bay Jazz Vocal Ensemble is an auditioned mixed group of 15 singers. Vocal Solution is a seven-voice ensemble with members from the Oxford Hills, Bridgton, and Poland areas. Vocal ELoquence is an 18-voice chorus from Edward Little High School in Auburn. None of the Above, an octet from Boston, returns to Battle of the Blends by popular demand. Downeasters also returning to "Battle" are members of the Portland Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
This one-night-only gathering of musical forces will take place on Saturday, November 6th at 7:30 PM in the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston. Tickets are available online at www.mainemusicsociety.org or by calling L/A Arts at 207-782-7228.
