How to audition for the Chorale
The audition for the Chorale is a “user friendly” process. No one is asked to sight read. No one need prepare a song or aria to sing. First, Mr. Corrie will warm up your voice with three exercises, designed to take your voice up and down to confirm your range. Then, he’ll ask you to sing My Country ‘tis of Thee, reading from a copy of the song, in a couple of different keys. Next, he will sing a phrase in your voice range from a current chorus the Chorale is preparing. He’ll sing it several times while you listen and observe the music. When you are ready, you will sing it back to him. Finally, he’ll sing the phrase along with you.
That’s all there is to it!
