| Silent Auction held in conjunction with Heritage Christmas Concert |
The Maine Music Society will be holding a silent auction in conjunction with its Heritage Christmas Concert on December 13 and 14 at the Franco American Heritage Center in Lewiston. The proceeds will be used to help underwrite the cost of concerts by the Androscoggin Chorale and the Maine Music Society Orchestra.
Selected items may be viewed below. All items will be shown and bids taken two hours before the concerts, during intermission and ½ hour afterward at the Franco American Heritage Center.
Headlining the items for sale is an opportunity to conduct the Androscoggin Chorale. The winning bidder will rehearse with the Chorale and conduct one piece during the Spring Concert in May 2009. Another outstanding musical item up for bid is a working harpsichord, tuned by Artistic Director John Corrie. A Windsor chair by Thomas Moser and an end table by McIntosh & Tuttle, a week’s stay in Islesboro and a weekend at a Sugarloaf condo are sure to draw many bids as well. There is something for everyone including paintings, etchings and handcrafted jewelry and household items by local artists, an overnight stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, and numerous gift certificates to local establishments and venues.
The Heritage Christmas Concert and Auction are a great way to celebrate the season. You can enjoy a program of wonderful Christmas music, do your Christmas shopping and support a local art organization all at the same time.
