he Maine Music Society has been busy preparing for this year’s season, choosing music and securing concert venues. In addition, new singers and musicians have been auditioning, all lending to the excitement of the possibilities for the coming season. Beginning with our Concert for Ensemble of Strings and Oboe in September and finishing with our Concert by the Androscoggin Chorale of Music from the Movies in May, there will be music to delight every musical taste all year long.
This year we will increase our Heritage Christmas Concert to three concert venues, which expands our musical presence and shares the joy of the holiday season with many more audience members. In addition, as a result of our collaboration with the Lewiston High School Chamber Choir, conducted by Rebecca Poppke, the chorale has begun an active recruitment of singers from the local high schools. This expansion of our choral program to include serious high school age singers will help to increase the awareness of the joy of singing and also further our mission to support music education in the community.
Whether you are interested in music from operas or the movies, there will be Music for All Seasons bringing joy to all. I know you will not want to miss a single note!
Yours truly,
